Here is our Sample Day-by-Day Itinerary

Fri. Sept. 16
You will probably depart for Frankfurt, Germany.

Sat. Sept. 17 After arrival in Frankfurt we transfer to our hotel in Eltville on the Rine for rest and relaxation. Welcome Dinner tonight will be at our hotel. (D)

Sun. Sept. 18 Full-day excursion first to Koblenz, the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, then a Rhine River cruise, a visit to the Lorelei rock, and more.... Dinner in Rüdesheim at a local wine restaurant tonight. Overnight (B, D)

 

 

Mon. Sept. 19 Today we travel to the medieval town of Rothenburg in upper Bavaria to see the Altar of the Holy Blood and other interesting sights. Dinner at our hotel. Special evening walk with a local guide. Overnight. (B, D)

Tues. Sept. 20 On to Salzburg, Austria for sightseeing. En route we stop near Berchtesgaden and ascend to the Eagle’s Nest. Free time in Salzburg and dinner and overnight in Salzburg. (B, D) 

Wed. Sept. 21 In the morning we we take a walking tour with a local guide. Shop or ascend the Hohensalzburg Fortress for a great panoramic view of the city. Take time out for coffee and cake – a tradition! (B, D)

Thurs. Sept. 22 Travel to Munich. Perhaps we can visit the Olympic Grounds or Nymphenburg Palace. In late afternoon we'll enjoy the fun and frolic at the Oktoberfest Grounds before we make our way to the world-renowned Hofbräuhaus for dinner. Overnight in Munich. (B, D) Morning visit of Nymphenburg Palace, then the Olympic Grounds and free time for lunch before proceeding south to the Ettal area, visiting Linderhof Palace before we check into our hotel in Ettal for dinner and overnight. (B, D).

Fri. Sept. 23 The day is spent in the Oberammergau area visiting such highlights as the Abbey of Ettal, the Wies Church, and a picture stop at the Castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Late afternoon shopping in Oberammergau. Dinner in Oberammergau, before we return to Munich for overnight.(B,D)
